Each location features a sandy beach area suitable for swimming, wading, and sandcastle building, along with pavilions and picnic areas for public use. Boat and kayak launches are available at both the East Side and West Side. In the winter months, the waterfront areas at both beaches become popular for ice fishing, and the river itself integrates into the local snowmobile club trail system.
